Belgrade Zoo houses over 2000 animals, on 6 hectares area.
The enclosures are small, cages are concrete floored without any environmental enrichment.
There is no vegetation in the enclosures, there is no bathing water,
or, in case of the polar bears, hippo, seals, pools are small with dirty water.
Polar bears are often closed in small cage without water, two brown bears are in 15m2 cage, without pool,
which must be provided by zoo standards.
Many of the food and water troughs are contaminated with rotting food and faeces.
Feeding by the public is prohibited but it is obvious that this is not enforced.

Most of the animals exhibit the stereotypical behaviour that is seen in enclosed animals in distress.
Kinky the Bear and all the other animals in Belgrade zoo cannot talk.
But, doesn't this picture say more than a thousand words? What would he tell us if he could talk?
"Can't you see where I live? Can't you see my pain and suffering?
Don't throw me lumps of sugar, give me forest, give
me grass on which I can roll around, give me bushes with those sweet berries,
give me clean water...look at the water that I am drinking!
Doesn't anybody care?
Am I not you child’s favorite toy? Get me out of here, help me."

In the English language word "kinky" means "perverse". This bear isn't kinky, he is desperate, unhappy, depressed, closed in a very small dirty, stinking, concrete floored cage.
Majority of children's toys represent animals: dogs, cats, bunnies, birds, and, off course, the most popular toy all over the world,
Teddy bear in all sizes and colors.
Animals inspire us to make lovely toys, but, why we don't have feelings for real, living animals?!
This is a toy made from plush and sponge. Kinky is made from flash and blood, he's got a soul, he is alive.
